They support each other. Since the beginning of the new year it has been a sad certainty: Kate Garraway’s (56) husband Derek Draper (56) died of long-term complications from the coronavirus. The pain of his loss is still deep for the presenter and their two children Billy and Darcey and is causing quite a lot of trouble for the family. Kate’s daughter Darcey still tries to stay positive.
On “Good Morning Britain” remembers Kate’s Moderation colleague Ben Shephard remembers the moment when Derek had to be hospitalized in December. Before the mother of two left the house, her daughter is said to have given her some sweet advice: “Darcey asked, ‘Can you take off your Christmas sweater and brush your hair?'” Ben explains what happened next as follows: “That was a brilliant moment in which Kate burst out laughing.”
On the British breakfast television show, the presenter also revealed how it was Kate and their offspring are currently doing. “They’re just figuring out what happens next,” Ben explained, adding, “When you lose someone, you have to do a lot of administrative work.”
