In the program “BBC 5 Live” he discussed his quarrels with a commitment. He can understand the criticism of the series because it deals with quite private situations from recent years. Dominic still decided to play Charles because the Royals were essentially “public property.” “But I still feel uncomfortable with the idea that anyone [der Öffentlichkeit] or someone’s private life is made public,” emphasized the 54-year-old. Some events simply weren’t that long ago, so there is still “a lot of sadness.”
Dominic himself did not have good experiences with public life. Because in 2020 he was caught making out with Lily James (34). Paparazzi spotted the two actors intimately in Rome. His wife Catherine FitzGerald (52) is said to have been beside himself at the time, but was able to forgive him. They now seem happy together again.
