Finally the time has come! The Emmy Awards ceremony has been watched with excitement for years. Last year, however, film and series fans had to miss out on the star-studded spectacle: Due to the strike in Hollywood, in which authors and actors took to the streets to demand better working conditions, the Emmys were postponed. But in just a few hours the time has come: the Emmys will be awarded around four months after the actual date! Who could take home the coveted award this time?
In the “Best Drama Series” category are the popular shows “Andor”, “Better Call Saul“, House of the Dragon, “Succession”, The Crown, “The Last of Us”, “The White Lotus” and “Yellowjackets” to choose from. Wednesday, “The Bear”, “Barry”, “Jury Duty”, Only Murders in the Building, “Ted Lasso”, “Abbott Elementary” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” are again fighting for the award for best comedy. The series Dahmer, “Beef”, “Daisy Jones & The Six”, “Fleishman is in Trouble” and “Obi-wan Kenobi” are hoping for an award in the “Best Miniseries” category.
But some stars could also have reason to be happy in a few hours: Pedro Pascal (48) will try to assert himself against his fellow actors Jeff Bridges (74), Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, Bob Odenkirk (61) and Jeremy Strong and win the prize to take home Best Actor in a Drama Series. Sharon Horgan, Melanie Lynskey (46), Elisabeth Moss (41), Bella Ramsey (20), Keri Russell (47) and Sarah Snook are again nominated in the “Best Actress in a Drama Series” category.
