Time for the royal week blog. What a week it was again for Queen Máxima. She went straight back to business after the summer holidays. Beatrix reopened a mill, in the presence of a grandfather, a father and a newborn baby son. Beatrix enjoyed the baby. And Mary radiates as usual in colorful clothing, at the reception of the Paralympic athletes and during a dinner with officers of the Dannebrog. In short, enough to look back on.
We start this week with a look at Princess Beatrix. This week she reopened the corn and hulling mill De Noordstar in Noordbroek (Groningen). The miller was thrilled to introduce his grandson Benjamin to Princess Beatrix. Beatrix, dressed in a bright blouse, black trousers and a top over it, clearly enjoyed it.
Aren’t these pictures wonderful!
What is the most common dress code at court?
On to Maxima. “You either love it or you hate it”, judging by the reactions of our readers.
Two openings in the context of sustainability in Gelderland in one afternoon. The queen doesn’t shy away from it, and wears something airy on a rainy day.
A special moment in times when there are several wars in the world. Willem-Alexander and Máxima were present at the start of the celebration of 80 years of national freedom. Freedom, to be thankful for!
A completely different look for Máxima.
Which of Maxima’s looks this week do you like best?
We know that Laurentien has a striking clothing style. Wearing a coat inside out shows courage (and makes it difficult for seekers haha).
Other royals
King Frederik and Queen Mary received the officers of the Dannebrog for a gala dinner at Amalienborg. Mary looked colorful as always!
King Frederik and Queen Mary, together with Princess Benedikte, also received the Paralympic athletes this week. Not only the winners, but all athletes who participated. And they were well received, with street food as a snack.

Spanish Queen Letizia attended the opening of the new school year 2024/2025 in the city of Azuqueca de Henares. She was dressed in a low-key style for the children, in black pants and a white and black striped top, she could just sit on the floor with the children. That often produces the most beautiful pictures.
