The apple doesn’t fall far from the royal tree!
When we look at the Middleton family, one thing is clear: beauty is in the genes. Princess Kate, for example, clearly gets her graceful appearance and charming looks from her mother, Carole Middleton.
Carole Middleton
If you want to know where Kate got her sense of style and beauty, you just have to look at her mother. Carole Middleton is just as refined in her clothing and appearance as her eldest daughter. Carole is married to Michael Middleton. Together they have three children: Catherine, Princess of Wales, Pippa and James.
Career
Carole is a true businesswoman and heads up the party supplies company Party Pieces. Although the company is now in dire straits, it was once the pride of the Middletons. And it was here that Kate, Pippa, and James were instilled with their industrious mentality! “My children were the inspiration for my business and have been involved from the start,” Carole once told the Daily Mail.
And Catherine still carries those wise lessons from her hardworking mother with her. “Kate is very much a product of her mother. She learned to do everything as well as she can,” royal biographer Ingrid Seward shared with The Mirror. And not just in the workplace! Kate also learned sailing, skiing and playing the piano from her mother. “All these skills are now because her ambitious mother encouraged her to learn them. She doesn’t shy away from anything.”
Two peas in a pod
In addition to her hard-working nature, we also see Kate’s good looks in her beautiful mother. And that’s why it’s extra fun when the two ladies get inspiration from each other! The two reportedly also borrow items from each other’s (well-stocked) wardrobes. They have been spotted several times with each other’s coats, fascinators or similar dresses. Still nice if you can borrow an Alexander McQueen from your daughter…

Carole and Kate also love nothing more than playing outside with their (grand)children in their spare time. “I’m happy when I’m outside with my family, in the countryside, and we’re all covered in dirt,” the then Duchess said in the podcast Happy Mum, Happy Baby.
Carole, too, still loves playing outside. “I want to run down hills, climb trees, crawl through the tunnel at the playground,” she told Good Housekeeping. “As long as I can do that, I’ll keep doing it. I cook with my grandchildren, I dance with them, I go on bike rides with them.” Like mother, like daughter!
