Has Máx found her new calling?
Queen Máxima enjoyed a wonderful musical afternoon last Wednesday. For example, she opened the Learning Orchestra Symposium in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. The meaningful afternoon was packed with performances, but also with a guest appearance by Máx herself.
Learning Orchestra Symposium
The afternoon was all about the learning orchestra, where children have the opportunity not only to play music, but also to develop other skills. They learn a lot about concentration, processing emotions and cooperation, among other things.
Moment to shine
Last Wednesday afternoon, Máx was tasked as honorary chairman of the ‘More Music in the Classroom’ foundation to open the Learning Orchestra Symposium. Máxima has been campaigning for more music in the Netherlands for years, so this task was tailor-made for her.
During this musical opening, the queen was able to attend many beautiful music performances. But that didn’t stop her from taking a moment of shine herself. Because guess what? Máx can continue as a conductor!
Conducting
Knowing the queen, she does not shy away from a challenge, which is why she took the baton with both hands. With a little help from conductor Rolf Hoogenberg, Máx conducted the stars from heaven. And it shows that she has a talent for it. The queen was treated with loud applause after her ‘guest appearance’.

Well-known outfit
Dressed in a beautiful olive green dress from her favorite Belgian fashion brand Natan, the queen appeared at the Concertgebouw. She combined her dress with an elegant dark gray hat and matching cloak.
However, observant royal fashion lovers may have noticed that this is not the first time that Máx has worn this dress and hat. She already wore the olive green dress three times earlier this year. The queen has worn the dark gray hat no fewer than thirteen times since 2013. And why not? We love a sustainable Queen.
