Did you know that Beatrix is also a customer of Yves Saint Laurent?

For over thirty years, Princess/Queen Beatrix ordered a large part of her clothes from Theresia Vreugdenhil. Did you know that she also has a dress by Yves Saint Laurent in her closet?

In the 1990s, less was definitely not more. Volume was the code word for fashion designers, resulting in wide skirts, large sleeves, present bows, flounces and draperies. The French couturier Yves Saint Laurent also participated and designed a mint green floral dress with five bows at the center front for the spring/summer 1994 collection. Apparently Queen Beatrix appreciated the design, because she was seen wearing the dress during the state visit to Jordan. In 2001 he officiated again at a ball in Sweden.

In the creative mind of Yves Saint Laurent, the dress had a significantly lower neckline.

Benjamin Vaesen drew my attention to the catwalk image. You understand: a search has started for more French and Italian gems. I recently wrote about a Valentino dress by Beatrix. You can find that blog here.
