You probably know it: you’re out with your friends and your best friend thinks it’s a good idea to take shots. You then end up in a shot bar with all kinds of crazy meaningless names. You are secretly curious about the flavors of the shots and you decide to go for it. Some shots aren’t too bad, but they can also be hugely disappointing. We collected some of the most fierce shots in the world. Warning: drink at your own risk!
Stroh 80
We get straight to the point with this intense drink with no less than 80%(!) alcohol. Stroh 80 (also called strohrum) is a rum from Austria known for its powerful taste. Stroh has the smell and taste of vanilla, oak and a hint of orange with almonds. It is often used in dishes and hot chocolate. The drink is not often drunk as a shot due to the high alcohol content, but there are still some daredevils who have tried it. In bars the drink is often mixed or diluted with water. Don’t try this at home!
Fireball (Fireball) or Flatliner
You’ve probably heard of Fireball, but this is a slightly different variant. It is also sometimes called Flatliner. This shot actually involves real fire! The ingredients are sambuca, tequila and a few drops of Tabasco. Smoking hot! If you want to make this shot yourself, make sure you make it in a fireproof glass and be careful!
Tape worm shot
Hold on tight, because this ain’t no joke. This shot is made from mayonnaise, vodka and pepper… like what?! Adding mayonnaise to the shot will make it look like you have a worm in your drink. It’s up to you to decide if you want to try it. We skip!
Naga Chilli Vodka
This vodka has been awarded worldwide as the spiciest vodka in the world. Chili pepper is added and has an alcohol content of 40%. Warning! It is advised not to consume this drink neat, but even in this case there are real die hards who have done it anyway. If you still want to try it: get the milk ready. Dare devil!
The Eggermeister Shot
With this shot, doubts arise as soon as you hear the name. The content lives up to its name: it contains Jägermeister and a pickled egg. Yikes! Do you dare?
Flaming Dr. Pepper Shot
This shot sounds quite complicated, but it is actually quite easy to make. The name (flaming) does not mean that it is less intense. This shot is made with amaretto liqueur, rum and beer. The fiery flame is also used here again. Heavy!
Backdraft Shot
This is a classic shot and is made from two equal amounts of Scotch Whiskey and French liqueur. This is then set on fire and extinguished within a few seconds. Quite an intense combination, do you dare?
Prairie Fire Shot
Simple but also super spicy and therefore intense! The ingredients are Tequila and hot sauce. This is often Tabasco, but you can also go for another (liquid) spicy sauce. Don’t use too thick a sauce or it will all go to the bottom. Enjoy, *cough*
For some of us, the more intense the better, but most will look disgusted just by hearing the ingredients or seeing the shot. Which shot do you dare to try? Cheers!
