A fashion statement from the fashion queen!
Queen Rania of Jordan’s wardrobe regularly makes us green with envy. She alternates endless designer pieces from Paris and Milan with works of art from local talents, and with these she always looks great. Yesterday, however, it was Her Highness herself who saw green, in a beautiful designer ensemble.
Grand visit
Yesterday, Jordan’s King Abdullah and his wife, Queen Rania, were received at the Palais de l’Élysée by the French President, Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron.
Regal fashion
Rania impressed as usual by appearing from head to toe in impeccable – yet very expensive – designer pieces. This time, her highness opted for an Elie Saab ensemble, with a matching oversized blouse and skirt. Her green handbag also came from the Lebanese label. The queen wore a set of white Jimmy Choo pumps – which in turn matched perfectly with the white look of the French first lady.
The airy outfit is a timeless and stylish choice for sweltering Paris, where temperatures this week are a bit higher than in our own little country. In that respect, this Elie Saab creation is a perfect choice. However, we do have some questions about Rania’s choice of a matching scarf. Stylish? That’s for sure. But is the accessory also comfortable in the French heat? We are not convinced of that…
Important visit
Of course, the visit of the Jordanian royal couple is about more than just fashion. The meeting between the French and Jordanian heads of state is entirely focused on the tension in the Middle East.
The Jordanian court writes: “During a meeting at the Palais de l’Élysée, the two leaders once again called on the international community to increase the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza by all possible means.”
In addition, the ‘stability and security’ of nearby Lebanon was also extensively discussed. It was therefore extra appropriate that Rania wore a creation by a Lebanese designer for this occasion. This is how you make a real fashion statement!
