Queen Máxima visited the Engineer Regiment in ‘s-Hertogenbosch this afternoon. Máxima in army clothing is something completely different from her usual clothing. And all too fun to watch.

Her Majesty Queen Máxima will visit the Engineer Regiment in ‘s-Hertogenbosch on Thursday afternoon, June 20. The engineer is a combat support unit. This specific armed forces unit is trained in clearing obstacles and building military infrastructure such as bridges and ferries. Under the motto ‘Together we pave the way, Sodeju!’, engineers are leading the way, looking for a road or building one.

At the start of the working visit, Queen Máxima will receive a brief explanation of the engineers’ work. After this, she takes part in an area exploration that is necessary to clear the area of ​​obstacles. During the exercise she is given an explanation about the obstacles, the maneuvers and she speaks with veterans. Queen Máxima will then be taken to the second exercise part in military vehicles.

The second exercise consists of arranging a crossing over water. We practice placing pontoons on the water that ultimately form a spring. Queen Máxima is launched into the vehicle on a pontoon and connects the parts on the water. After the exercise, Queen Máxima speaks with the participants. The visit ends with the traditional drinks and the regimental song.

Fashion Maxima?

We don’t have to judge fashion today. The queen was dressed in a military uniform. Tough!
