Because of her involvement in mental health, Máxima visited the municipality of Hollands Kroon this morning.
The municipality of Hollands Kroon has 22 centers and four hamlets that are far apart. There is limited public transport and roads and cycle paths through the countryside are often unlit. This makes it difficult for young people to meet each other and organize physical help. Queen Máxima used a map to talk to young people about life in a rural municipality with very limited facilities and the importance of youth associations for their mental health. She then spoke with representatives of the municipality, youth workers and young people about the challenges and the initiatives taken to reach young people. Finally, the renewed digital youth center YOUH was presented. This is a digital meeting place devised by and for young people from Hollands Kroon.
