“He needs to behave!”
Charles and Camilla have a good taste for garden parties! After hosting a garden party at Buckingham Palace this week for all kinds of prominent figures from the British cultural sector, the Queen also attended an attractive party in East Sussex. And there she had some stern words for her husband!
Recovery
After King Charles had surgery on his prostate at the beginning of this year, the news came as a bolt from the blue that the monarch had ‘a form of cancer’. As a result, he had to relinquish some of his duties and performed other duties in a modified form.
The doctor’s treatment and good care for his health have now ensured that the monarch is feeling a lot better again! A few weeks ago he took up some of his duties again, and since then Charles has been appearing in public more and more often.
‘Behave yourself!’
During her visit to the town of Rye, in East Sussex, Queen Camilla was also asked some questions about her husband’s well-being. For example, one of the guests wondered whether Charles was on the mend again.
Camilla then joked – sharply as we have come to expect from her – that the king is indeed getting better, but added: “… Or well, it would if he would behave himself.” Ha!
Take it easy
Of course, Cam had a lot of laughs with this, but there is no denying that there is a small grain of truth in her words. The idea would have been that Charles would slowly resume his work. An appearance here, a service there, and above all, a nice rest in between.
But a quick look at the royal couple’s agenda reveals that His Majesty has once again thrown himself into his work with great dedication. This Wednesday, for example, he played host – and chatted about reality shows – at a garden party at Buckingham Palace, after having already attended a service for the Order of the British Empire that morning. In addition, Charles appeared this week at the unveiling of his controversial portrait, he visited the Royal Opera, and in between audiences were held and important conversations were held by the monarch.
In short: maybe he would do well to listen to his wife a little more. After all, your health has the highest priority, even as head of state.
