Your kitchen will be clean again with these few steps

You can be found in the kitchen every day. You cook there, you eat there and you sometimes grab a cup of coffee. It is therefore not surprising that we have to thoroughly clean the kitchen every now and then. But how often should you actually clean your kitchen and what is the best way? Read on!

That’s how often you have to clean your kitchen

All kinds of food left in the kitchen, causing bacteria to accumulate. You don’t want that in a place where your food is prepared. It is therefore best to clean the used items every day. Think of your countertop, sink, stove and dining table. When it comes to appliances, cupboards and the floor, it is best to clean them weekly. Give your coffee maker, dishwasher and the inside of the cupboards a good cleaning every month.

The first step

The first step is to tidy up your kitchen. Of course, you can’t clean up a mess. Therefore, make sure nothing gets in the way. Remove the large food scraps and work from top to bottom. For example, don’t vacuum the floor first and then clean the countertop.

Kitchen cabinets

Once you have cleaned up, start cleaning the kitchen cupboards. Grease stains and food scraps sometimes end up here and that is of course not so fresh. Look, we haven’t even talked about the handles that everyone is holding. To do this, make soapy water with water and add a dash of mild cleaning agent. Wipe the cabinets and handles thoroughly.

Countertop and your kitchen table

Now it’s time to clean your countertops and kitchen table. Spray your countertop with a multi-degreaser and then wipe it with a cleaning cloth. Pay close attention to the material of your countertop, because you cannot use all products with natural stone. Also wipe your countertop with a clean cloth.

Floor tiles

Now it’s the turn of the tiles. Spray a little multi-degreaser on this and wipe the tiles with a cleaning cloth. Are you curious which tiles deserve the most attention? These are the tiles near your stove and sink. This is where most grease splashes and lime end up.

Clean the hob

Of course, it depends a bit on which hob you have. Therefore, carefully find out which cleaning product is suitable for yours. This way you prevent further scratches or stripes on your record.

Extractor hood grilles

It is important to clean your grills thoroughly every now and then. Take them out and spray them with a multi-degreaser. Let this soak in for a while and place in the dishwasher on a normal program. Now it’s time to clean the inside of the range hood. Once the grilles are thoroughly dry, you can place them back in the extractor hood.

Washbasin

It is best to clean these daily. Get rid of the food remains and always use a scouring pad and abrasive cleaner to clean the sink and strainer. Do you suffer from limescale? Then use a little white vinegar and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then rinse it with water. Your sink is as good as clean again.

Floor

Yes, now you can finally clean the floor. First vacuum carefully and finish with a good mopping. ideal, right?

A clean towel, tea towel and dishcloth

Yes, these cloths also need to be replaced every now and then. There can be a lot of bacteria on it and that is very dirty. It also causes odors and we naturally want to prevent that.
