A colorful suit or floral dress perhaps?
Just one more night’s sleep, and then it’s time for the annual King’s Day festivities. The royal family will travel to Emmen, and we now know exactly what the day will look like there. But what the royals will wear is still a big surprise. And of course we can’t resist speculating about which gems they will bring out of their wardrobe. This is what the editors of Glamial suspect.
A radiant Máxima
Unfortunately, the weather seems to be disappointing, so the royals will have to adjust their outfit accordingly. Nevertheless, our royals will undoubtedly appear sparkling. Last year we saw Princess Amalia in bright fuchsia, and Queen Máxima in bright green. Will we see such bright colors again this year for the ladies? Maybe we will see Queen Máxima shine in her beloved brand Natan. After all, the queen is loyal to her labels and has previously shone in outfits from the Belgian fashion house. Or would she go for an ensemble with her other favorite, Jan Taminiau? In any case, Grazia’s Sanne is convinced: “No Natan this year.”
It has not escaped our attention that the queen is a fan of recycling her outfits. Would the queen also do this tomorrow during King’s Day? Opinions in the editorial staff are divided on this. “Máxima goes for a recycled outfit. Not artful couture, but nice and practical. I also think she goes for colorful on a drizzly King’s Day. Then Máx is still the ray of sunshine,” predicts our Grazia colleague Christel.
Fashionable princes
And the princesses? “In the past, I would guess that they would go for low-budget options, such as a Zaraatje, but now the taste of ladies seems to be becoming a bit more expensive,” notes colleague Sabine from Marie Claire. Yet Zara continues to echo across the editorial staff.
She has proven several times that Amalia shines in a matching suit. We at the editorial team are betting that she will pull out a nice suit again. Does she go for a new one, or does she borrow one from her mother? Perhaps the princess will complete her outfit with a beautiful clutch, or she may take her beautiful green Jacquemus bag with her again. “I think Amalia appears in a dress and hat. Comfort is central this year. Maybe even a comfy pair of sneakers,” is the prediction of Nouveau colleague Fabiën.
Princess Alexia likes trendy outfits, truly a princess after our own hearts. But it is difficult to estimate how she will appear tomorrow. “I secretly hope that she borrows another dress from her mother. Máx has plenty of other nice Oscar de la Renta copies for Alexia to choose from. However, if I had to guess, I think she would also go for a suit. A coat from mom’s closet for warmth, if necessary,” says Glamials Sandy hopefully.
And the youngest of the bunch, Ariane? Last year, the princess appeared for the first time in a beautiful white suit during King’s Day in Rotterdam, after always wearing dresses. “I think she will again opt for a nice suit, but a little less on trend than Alexia, for example; more something timelessly elegant with a mature twist,” Sandy continues.
Well, plenty of speculation from the editorial staff of Glamial. Will it indeed be recycling, borrowing, or completely new? In any case, what we know for sure is that the royals do their best every year, so we will undoubtedly be surprised. Who is right, will we see suits or dresses? We are very curious!
