He put his whole heart and soul into it. The long wait will soon be over: “Girl You Know It’s True” will appear on the big screen for the first time on December 21st. The film deals with the playback scandal surrounding the disco pop duo Milli Vanilli and their producers Frank Farian. Tijan Njie (31) plays the role of in the film Robert Pilate (✝32). Promiflash followed up: How did it happen? Tijan prepared for this?
At the “Girl You Know It’s True” premiere, the 31-year-old revealed in a Promiflash interview that he had worked intensively on his role – true to the motto: blood, sweat and tears. With his coach he clearly outlined how he would approach the sensitive topic. “We started researching everything and looking at everything first, in terms of the physical transformation. Also trying to imitate the look in some way, going to the gym and dancing,” chats Tijan out of. The actor also dealt with Rob psychologically: “How did he function or tick? What ultimately killed him?”
That Fabrice Morvan (57) is also there, fill him with pride. Being on the big screen feels surreal for the Everything That Matters star. For him, the film is like a parallel story Milli Vanilli. “They started out as background dancers and then ended up on these big stages,” explains Tijan in an interview, adding: “And for me it’s kind of like that – jumping into the deep end and suddenly experiencing the big world of cinema.”
