Does the Duchess have a new stylist?
If anyone has become wiser through trial and error, it is Sarah Ferguson. The Duchess of York no longer cares about what people think of her, and thus has her own sense of style. Now of course we have all the respect for that, but not all her eccentric outfits over the years have been equally successful. However, last week we were completely blown away by the Duchess, who managed to surprise us with a set of ultra-glamorous looks.
Quirky Duchess
A set of red locks, a military jacket with gold embroidery and a pair of sneakers with playful cat faces – this is how we have seen Sarah make her appearance more than once in recent years. Really glamorous? Not that. But hey, if it makes the Duchess herself happy, why not?
Still, we secretly hoped that Fergie would surprise us again with an abundance of classic glamour. Now that she is recovering after a serious set of health problems and seems to be slowly being embraced again by her royal ex-in-laws, this would of course be the ideal time for Fergie to show what she has to offer as an accomplished duchess. And so it happened!
Timeless elegance
This week the Duchess was seen twice in beautiful glamor looks, so we almost didn’t recognize her. No army jackets, playful sneakers or difficult-to-fit manteaux robes, but pure red carpet elegance!
Sarah made her appearance this week in Cannes, where the annual Film Festival is underway at the Knights of Charity gala. Here the Duchess showed herself in a long, deep green glittery gown by Vivienna Lorikeet, which is studded with a fringe of hundreds of radiant beads around her neckline and features embroidered sequins from head to toe. A quick look at the Australian fashion brand’s website shows that this evening dress costs more than 5.5 thousand. A pretty penny, sure, but worth it, nun?
A day later the next gala was already on the agenda, and once again Sarah opted for a Vivienna Lorikeet gown. This time no deep green evening dress, but a cocktail dress with a set of beautiful statement sleeves, colorful silver embroidery and endless beads and stones.
The Duchess paired this with a matching Judith Leiber clutch and Pamela Scott heels. Nice detail: in addition to this undoubtedly pricey dress – the website does not mention any amounts, but only a price on request – Fergie’s mules with a price tag of forty euros are quite budget-proof.
Whether Sarah has become the new brand ambassador for Vivienna Lorikeet, hired a new stylist or simply decided to fully embrace her inner glam kitty, we don’t know. But we do know that we are big fans of this glamorous side of the Duchess. You go, Sarah!
