‘All that Botox and fillers give everyone the same effect’
The Real Gooische Mothers are of course not averse to a bit of glamour. But what do Pauline, Bo, Leslie, Florine and Kimberly actually think about botox and fillers? We asked them on the man glamor woman in the latest Glamial.
All the same key
Pauline, in her own words, is the ‘slob’ of the bunch. “My mother sometimes says: ‘Come on, act a little more vain, a little more feminine.’” Yet she has sometimes dared to use the b-word. “I did Botox once and then planned to do it more often, but I postpone it every time. Oh well, there’s nothing wrong with a nice healthy head, everyone gets the same taste from all that botox and fillers.”
Botox in the armpits
When Leslie was depressed, she did nothing at all about her appearance. That has now changed: she has her nails and eyebrows done again, occasionally gets a spray tan, and uses botox. Not in her face, but in her armpits! “It really is the invention, because I used to sweat a lot and now I don’t have any problems anymore. I don’t want Botox on my face, I actually like wrinkles. I would like a chin lipo, they remove the fat with two injections, so who knows, one day!”
Last resort
Bo also finds external care important, but no needles are involved. “I see it as a kind of last resort, for when there really is no other option.”
Medical
Kimberly has had some work done, although this was mainly for medical reasons. “I had a breast reduction after giving birth because I really needed it; I couldn’t wear a shirt anymore. I also needed a tummy tuck, because I weighed eighty kilos at 5 feet tall and had too much skin left. I only use Botox medically: in my jaw muscles to prevent grinding.”
Duck face
Florine does not use Botox because she does not think it is necessary yet. “But I can imagine that as I get older I would like a small drop in my lip if it makes me feel more beautiful. Only Jeroen really doesn’t want that. He sees those duck faces around us and always says: ‘If you start that, I will really leave you.’”
