Mother’s Day was celebrated in the United Kingdom last weekend. The perfect moment for Lady Kitty Spencer, the niece of the late Princess Diana, to announce to the world that she has become a mother.
Became a mother
While everyone was captivated by the ‘Kate snapshot’ posted on Mothering Sunday, there was another royal who published a surprising Instagram post. The niece of the late Princess Diana shared a video of her parading across the beach with a little girl on her hip.
“It is the joy of my life to be your mother, little one. I love you unconditionally,” Kitty captioned the sweet video.

Lady Kitty is the first cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry. This makes her daughter a grandniece of Princes George, Louis, Archie and Princesses Charlotte and Lilibet. How nice!
Surprise
She kept it a secret that Kitty became the mother of a child. No one knew that a little one was on the way. Based on the first images she shared, the baby is already a few months old.
She was not spotted at fashion events between September 2023 and February 2024 – which could be related to her pregnancy. But anyway, nowadays there are several paths that can lead to motherhood. I’m sure we’ll still have to figure out exactly how it works!
Wedding
It is not the first time that Kitty prefers to remain in the shadows in the run-up to major milestones in her life. About three years ago she also organized her wedding in secret. She then married billionaire Michael Lewis, 31 years her senior.
Yet that did not make the three-day party any less spectacular. The bride wore no fewer than four different gowns, rented a villa in the heart of Rome for the festivities and invited the entire London high society for a weekend full of chic dinners, pre-parties and after-parties. All the ingredients for a fairytale wedding, although royalty watchers came home from a rude awakening.
