Get a tan safely: this is how you use self tan drops

Not yet blessed with a healthy, brown skin color and do you secretly want this? Don’t worry, you can also use self tan drops. This will make your summer body completely ready. This is how you can safely use a self-tanner.

Prepare well

Before you get started with a self-tanner, good preparation is key. First, it is very nice to clean your skin thoroughly so that all dead skin cells are removed. Jump in the shower, scrub your skin and depilate your body. Do this well before you use the self-tanner, for example the day before. Otherwise you run the risk that your skin will become extremely irritated. In addition, it is important that you have good hydrated skin. If your skin has dry spots, the self-tanner will be absorbed more quickly, causing brown spots. Keep your skin supple by regularly applying a nourishing body lotion (without oil).

Take your time

Rushing will not improve the result, so plan enough time. When you use self-tanner, apply from bottom to top. For example, start at your toes and then slowly work your way up. This way you prevent stains caused by friction with another part of the body. It is also useful to use a glove. At least this way your palms won’t turn brown. And last but not least: don’t get dressed too quickly. Dressing too quickly causes stains and that is exactly what you want to avoid.

Choose the right product

When you use self-tanner, it is wise to keep your skin supple, but it is better not to use oil-containing body lotion or shower gels. The ingredient in the self-tanner that turns your skin browner dissolves in oil. You will never get a beautiful tanned skin. We also recommend that you buy a special self-tanner for your face. A self-tanner that you use on the rest of your body often gives your face a much browner color than you actually want. So choose the right color self-tanner, for both your face and your body. You’d rather not become an oompa loompa, right?

Repair stains

Did you make a mistake? No worries, you can solve this very easily. For example, use a cotton pad with some lemon juice and gently rub the stains. The lemon juice is acidic so the brown tint will disappear quickly. You can easily remove stains in your cuticles with some nail polish remover. It also helps to scrub thoroughly in the shower.
