The man that aged like fine wine.
Every year, the American magazine People names a celebrity as the Sexiest Man Alive. Once again this year, the magazine will have a hunk as the winner – and of course we at Beau Monde have ears eyes to.
Grey’s Anatomy
This year, Patrick Dempsey is the lucky one: he has been named the sexiest man by People, following in the footsteps of George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Idris Elba, among others. We have been able to enjoy Patrick’s handsome face for quite some time now. Almost twenty years ago he stole the show as neurosurgeon Derek Shepherd in Grey’s Anatomy, but he also burst onto the screen in the 1980s in films such as Can’t Buy Me Love and Loverboy.
McDreamy
So it took a while, but after a long acting career, Patrick Dempsey has finally won the award. And he may be 57 years old now, but he still lives up to his nickname McDreamy. In fact, Patrick only seems to get more handsome with age.

“I’m glad it’s happening now. The recognition is nice and it is good for my ego,” the actor admits. “But for me it is mainly a platform to do something positive with it.” By this, Patrick is referring, among other things, to his own Dempsey Center, a charity that he founded in honor of his deceased mother to support cancer patients and their loved ones.
Laughed at
By the way, his three kids can have a good laugh about their father’s new status. “As always, they make fun of me, tease me and give me all kinds of reasons why I’m not the Sexiest Man. I thought it was a joke at first too. I have always been the bridesmaid in this pageant.”
