From a water taxi to mealworm burgers: this is what his day looked like.
A busy day for Willem-Alexander: yesterday the king visited the Port of Zwolle in Meppel and the Royal Professional Organization of Bailiffs in Harderwijk. The day was filled with shaking hands, tasting food and a boat trip with the water taxi.
Port of Zwolle
The king visited various companies in the Port of Zwolle, a port company of the municipalities of Kampen, Zwolle and Meppel. He first visited boat builder Alumax Boats, where he was given a tour of the yard.
Various employees involved Wim-Lex in the construction process of the company’s aluminum boats, such as sloops, water taxis and electric tour boats. And as can be seen in the photo, he found that very interesting.
After such a visit, a short trip on the water cannot be missed! That’s why the king (right in photo) boarded a yellow water taxi.
Once safely on shore, Willem-Alexander was given the opportunity to meet the residents of Meppel. The king showed that he is certainly not the most difficult, and posed for some selfies with the local youth. Say cheese!
Of course, all that talk and selfies also make you hungry. Fortunately, a visit to Fieldlab Circulair Ondernemen was planned! Here the king could become acquainted with all kinds of innovative types of food. For example, he was served a real mealworm burger, and he liked it: “This burger has a different consistency than a meat burger, but it does taste good,” Wim-Lex concluded.
Visit Bailiffs
Earlier in the day, King Willem-Alexander had already visited Harderwijk, at the Royal Professional Organization of Bailiffs (KBvG). Here he had the opportunity to see the work they do…
…and to attend meetings. He spoke to the bailiffs about the development of the profession and the training. Fortunately, it was fun, because there was a lot of laughter!
And, at the end of the day, the king was presented with the lustrum book of the KBvG, in honor of their 150th anniversary.
Working visit to Máxima
Máxima will also be visiting again soon. Her first domestic working visit of 2024 will take place on January 23, in Venlo. The Queen will visit the Care Evaluation & Appropriate Use (ZE&GG) program, a program that is committed to good and affordable care for every patient in the Netherlands.
