Of all the Spice Girls, Melanie Brown, better known as Mel B, is, as we know, the toughest and biggest daredevil. It’s not without reason that everyone called her scary spice. She is not afraid of anything and therefore not too afraid to share secrets. For example, she is now ‘accidentally’ revealing more to British media about a reunion that is actually happening and possibly because of their 30th anniversary. OMG!
Mel B reveals details about Spice Girls reunion
For a moment, the world of many fans stood still in 2001, when all the Spice Girls went their separate ways. Okay, the five girls Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham did start solo careers, so we didn’t have to miss them completely. But the Spice Girls were out of the question for a while. Until they came back together for the first reunion in 2007. Apparently they really missed their joint project. And: they still do that. There will be another reunion later in 2012 during the Olympic Games in London and they will even do a number of reunion concerts in the United Kingdom in 2019.
Announcement in 2024?
The Spice Girls are clearly still not completely done with the popular girl group from the 90s. Well, Victoria was, for example, as she was not present at the concerts in 2019. But she seems to have changed her mind now. For example, Mel B previously told Sky News that the girls were working on a reunion with all five women. And now she tells the British news program Loose Women once again “that they are definitely working on something”. Then she quickly adds, “I’ll probably get spanked, but I said it. Please. This year.”
30th anniversary
Mel B gets quite loose in the interview. “We will announce that later this year,” she also reveals ‘accidentally’, after which she immediately says: “Now I’m going to have problems.” The reunification could therefore take place next year. This may mean that the new reunion will be created around the Spice Girls’ 30th anniversary. Ooh! This year marks the 30th anniversary of the creation of the popular girl group. A new reunion would therefore be a great moment to celebrate this special milestone. At the time, the Spice Girls were formed by Heart Management, with Simon Fuller as manager. In collaboration with record company Virgin Records, they then released their timeless debut single Wannabe. And the rest is history.
Reunion with Victoria?
As mentioned, the new Spice Girls reunion would be even more special than the previous one from 2019. There is a good chance that Victoria will be there this time. The bond between Victoria and the other women also seems good. For example, a party once took place with all the Spice Girls. In a video posted by Victoria’s husband David, the girls dance to their own song. The video then reads: “A friendship for life.”
