Queen Máxima was present last Tuesday during the launch of an online tool from MIND Us that helps adults with conversations about mental health. Máx herself thinks it is very important that this is discussed openly. She also encourages her daughters to always talk about their problems.
Conversations about mental health
The new tool, launched last Tuesday, should help adults to continue talking about psychological problems. But that is not the only thing the tool will help with, they will also continue to help users with the next steps.
Máx thinks it is very important that adults continue to talk to young people about their mental problems, although she understands very well that this can be difficult. “Even as a mother,” she added. During the launch, our Queen gave a short speech. She called the launch ‘a very beautiful moment’. “It can be quite scary to start a conversation with someone who is sitting alone in a corner and does not want to talk.”
Daughters
Máxima has also been in a similar setting with her three daughters. She also occasionally tries to solve their problems. “And then they say: I just want you to listen.” Okay clear! “We all have to work on it,” the queen says. “The conversation is so important.”

As someone who lost her sister to suicide due to depression, and is the mother of three beautiful daughters who are growing up in a time when speaking about mental issues is becoming increasingly important, Máxima is of course very concerned with everything that has to do with mental well-being.
