They receive the prize from a very familiar face!
A particularly sweet moment last night: at the presentation of the Women of the Year Awards, Princess Laurentien and her daughter, Countess Eloise, received joint prizes. And they received that award from a very familiar face!
Women of the Year
Last night a very special awards ceremony took place in the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam: it was time again for the Women of the Year ceremony, which occurs annually. Powerful women from all over the Netherlands are spotlighted for their commitment to society.
A while ago we wrote that Elo and Laurentien were nominated together for one of these prizes. A total of six awards were given out, of which five winners were determined by Harper’s Bazaar, which organizes the event. The sixth prize, however, was the Audience Award, for which everyone could vote.
Price
Last night it became clear that Princess Laurentien and her daughter had won the coveted Audience Award. And they came to receive it in style!

Moreover, the organization had chosen a ‘dear one’ for each of the winners to present the award to the lucky ones. And in the case of Laurentien and Eloise, it was none other than Prince Constantijn! Footage from the ceremony shows mother and daughter bursting into laughter when they see their husband and father enter the stage.

We also spotted in the images that Lau and Elo(lo) appeared in matching black jumpsuits. Laurentien combines her outfit with a Tara Jarmon jacket, where Eloise goes for a risqué open detail. Nice and rebellious from the countess – as we now know and love her!
Power women
The Orange ladies were praised for their commitment to a good cause. Their nomination stated: “The two use their accessibility to work for good causes and do this in an accessible way. Laurentien is committed to low literacy in the Netherlands and is working hard towards a better future for many with her Reading and Writing Foundation. Eloise tackles very different, but equally important topics. On her Instagram account she discusses mental health among young people among more than 400,000 followers.”
In addition to Laurentien and Eloise, Karsu Dönmez (Woman of the Year), Willemijn Verloop (International), Tess van Zalinge (Rising Star), Tania Kross (Oeuvre), and Corinne Goddijn-Vigreux (Business) also received prizes. Congratulations ladies!
