Women who have periods probably know how to deal with their periods from a young age. The various (unique) aches and pains in the run-up to the infamous week, how you can make it as easy as possible for yourself, but also how to use sanitary towels and tampons, for example. Or so you thought… Because according to this TikTok video, we’ve been using sanitary towels incorrectly our entire lives. Say what?

Using sanitary towels incorrectly
Although other menstrual products (menstrual underwear and menstrual cups, for example) are currently a lot more popular than sanitary towels, you have probably used a sanitary towel before. Of course, it doesn’t matter what you choose, because it’s your period and you have to do what makes you feel good. If that’s a sanitary pad, then chances are you’ve been using it incorrectly all along…
We came across several videos on TikTok that told us to use pads in a completely different way than you might think. Yes, really. We can’t do even the simplest thing in the world well without the help of TikTok.
Wings
If you use pads, chances are you will purchase them with wings. These stay in your underpants better and it all feels a bit safer down there. Do you remember that it was sometimes very difficult to peel off these wings and change your ‘diaper’? Well, that’s because you’re sticking the wings on the wrong way. Check out the video below and see for yourself.

In shock
Not only us, but also people in the comments below the video are in shock about this news. “No wonder why it’s always hard to remove them 🤣🤣,” someone writes. Still other viewers write: “And it makes so much sense cause sometimes the wings don’t stick to the panty 😩😩😩😩😩”, “My whole life is a lie at this point! 🙄🤣”, “Im trying this with my next period fr🤔🤭” and “I’m 35 dammittttt I’ve been doing it wrong for 23 years”.
So the next time you have your period, you know exactly what to do with your pads. This way your underpants will last a little longer and you will have a safe feeling down under.
