It looks like Mary has her new role completely under control!
The Danish men’s handball team, which played the final of the European Championship against France on Sunday, received a number of visitors during the match. None other than the newly crowned Queen Mary appeared on the scene to encourage the handball players. Would her royal presence have led the team to victory?
Exciting finale
Although the final of the European Handball Championship for men was exciting until the last moment, France ultimately won. After a nerve-wracking neck-and-neck race, the Danish handball team lost to the French by just two points. The loss of the national Danish handball team does not make Mary any less proud of the athletes. And, one thing is certain: it was certainly not due to the queen’s encouraging skills.

The Danish court addressed a number of nice words to the athletes on behalf of their queen on the Instagram account @detdanskekongehus. We see a photo of Mary in the stands with the handball court behind her. The caption reads: “What a breathtaking final… Denmark, you put up a fantastic fight. Victory was within reach, and it was heartbreaking to watch. Your impressive efforts at the European Championships deserve all the praise. Congratulations on the well-deserved silver medal.”

And those well-deserved silver medals? The Danish handball team will of course receive this personally from Queen Mary. French Sports Minister Amelie Oudea-Castera and German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier also join the Queen in line to congratulate the athletes:
New queen
This stylish performance also shows that Mary has managed to embrace her new title. Last week, when she appeared as queen for one of the first times, she also appeared in a beautiful outfit that fully deserves the royal stamp. It seems quite a bit to process, such a sudden appointment as queen of a country. Yet Mary seems to remain very down-to-earth about it. As if nothing was wrong, she appeared extremely cheerful last week at one of the first public outings since the change of throne.

And the queen did so, as we have come to expect from her, in a breathtaking outfit. Freshly shopped? No. Mary went for items that she has already worn before. A queen with sustainable habits: we can get used to that. The new queen wore a purple dress from Soeren Le Schmidt during the church service, which she completed with navy-colored Jimmy Choo pumps and a lot of other accessories in purple shades.
All in all, it looks like Mary has her new role completely under control!
