Money stress: these tips will help you make it to the end of the month financially

Money stress is a term that many people can relate to. Working a hundred hours a week and still being afraid that you will have a piece of the month left at the end of your money. Having your finances in order can provide a lot of peace of mind and it is therefore important that you deal with your money in a healthy way. Have less money stress? With these tips you ensure that you make it to the end of the month (financially).

Having money stress

Life as an adult isn’t always easy. You’re getting older, so you have more responsibilities, more bills and therefore perhaps more money stress. Not nice, but fortunately there is something you can do about it. You just have to find the balance in your financial situation again. We have listed a number of tips for you, which you can still apply now.

Check your spending pattern

If you are someone who often spends more money than you actually have (or just spends it irresponsibly) then it is logical that at some point you will actually start living accordingly. 100 euros may have been a lot to you at first, but now you think ‘Oh, it’s “only” 100 euros’. If you are rich, you can think like that, but if you have money worries, then that is not the smartest thing to do. So check your spending pattern. What do you actually spend your money on? Do you really need a 60 euro phone subscription? And do you go to the gym often enough to spend 80 euros a month on it?

Away with afterpay

We’ve all been guilty of it… Afterpay. Mega tempting, but not really financially responsible. You often forget these costs and at the end of the 30-day payment period, a fat amount is suddenly debited from your account. In addition, you can also choose not to pay for a long time, which quickly causes you to build up a debt. That’s a huge shame, right?

Food for several days

Groceries are incredibly expensive these days. Where you used to pay 50 euros for weekly groceries (and more), we are now paying about double that. To save some money on groceries, you can look for recipes that you can make in ‘bulk’. This does not mean that you have to eat the same thing seven days a week, but you can try to make food for multiple days. Especially if you have money stress in a period, this can be a real lifesaver.

Say no more often

A bite here, a drink there and a lovely weekend away or day out. You have to enjoy life, but not all nice things have to cost money. If you want to take it a bit easier with your spending, you can perhaps skip those terraces and restaurants this month. So say no more often, but don’t completely forget yourself either. Balance is key, but keeping control is also very important. We bet that this will reduce your money stress a bit?
