In one word stunning!
Yesterday, the May 5 concert traditionally took place as the official conclusion of Liberation Day. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima were of course front row to enjoy the performances, although it was mainly Máx who stole the show.
May 5 concert
Every year, Liberation Day officially ends with the May 5 concert. Yesterday the event was again held in its usual form. On and around the Amstel in front of the Royal Theater Carré, music lovers, artists and the royal couple gathered to enjoy the freedom. And that was of course reason enough for Máxima to appear in a brand new outfit.
New Natan outfit
Her Majesty clearly went shopping at her favorite fashion house, because she made her appearance from head to toe in Natan yesterday. Fashion queen Máxima tells us that it is a burgundy red crepe top with a deep V-neck and an overlay with openwork sleeves made of transparent muslin. Underneath, the queen wore matching trousers, finished with a tied belt.

All beautiful of course, but what really blew our minds was Máx’s hair. The queen had exchanged her usual, casual, no-nonsense hairstyle (which we secretly have a soft spot for) for a well-coiffed hairstyle that had even been curled. In one word stunning!
Sung along
In her beautiful outfit and with her husband Wim-Lex for company, Máx clearly enjoyed the concert last night, where April Darby, Guus Meeuwis, Flemming and Emma Kok, among others, took the stage. Once the couple was even caught singing along. And no: not with Perspoor by Guus Meeuwis (unfortunately, we would have liked to hear that ‘Kedeng Kedeng’ from the royal couple), but with a song from the musical Soldaat van Oranje. Well, you’re either royal or you’re not.
