With Wim-Lex as the perfect accessory!
A D-Day commemoration was traditionally held in Normandy on Thursday. All kinds of royals showed up there as usual, including our own Willem-Alexander and Máxima. And of course our queen managed to appear in the perfect outfit again.
D Day
It was exactly 80 years ago on Thursday that the Allies arrived on the coast of Normandy, France during the Second World War. Every year on this special day, we commemorate the beginning of the liberation of Western Europe and all the victims who fell during it. The D-Day commemoration is attended by all kinds of government leaders, but royals are also well represented every year.
Missing royals
Yet we also missed a number of dignitaries. So William appeared as expected without Kate at his side…
…And our Charlene was also conspicuous by her absence. Instead, poor Albert made his appearance in Normandy all alone.
Wim-Lex and Max
A couple who did manage to find their way to the French coast together was our own royal couple. On Wednesday, Wim-Lex and Máxima were still in the Netherlands for various working visits, but a day later they boarded a plane to make an appearance at the D-Day commemoration.
Despite the lack of time, our Máx managed to appear again in a beautiful look. Coming from Natan of course, because if you have little time to choose a suitable outfit, you will of course go for your favorite haute couture designer, non?
The experts at UFO No More report that it is a complete repeat look: a dark blue Natan dress, combined with a Natan clutch and sky-high Gianvito Rossi’s in the same color. All in all, a beautiful ensemble, in which even Wim-Lex fit in perfectly: with his dark blue suit, he matched Máx’s outfit well and was therefore the ideal accessory for the queen. Well done, Willem!
