Vitiligo skin in Sims 4 thanks to model Winnie Harlow

Who hasn’t dumped their Sims in a pool without stairs? There’s a good chance that you too made a lot of memories – good or bad – with The Sims in your youth. And even now the game is still widely played by people all over the world. The makers of the popular game are also trying to appeal to more and more people. That is why they have now entered into a new collaboration with Canadian model Winnie Harlow, who is known for her vitiligo skin. Vitiligo skin is caused by her skin condition, in which her skin loses pigment.

Since the makers of Sims 4 like to make their game representative for everyone, they have recently added a new feature. Since this week, players can give their Sim a skin with the skin condition vitiligo. This makes the game even more detailed and diverse. Something that Winnie herself is very happy with. “As a child, I spent a lot of time playing The Sims,” she said in a statement. “I think it’s so great that it is now possible to really be yourself in the game.”

Available online for free

When creating the new vitiligo skin in the Sims 4, designers also took different skin tones into account. So it doesn’t matter whether you choose a dark or light skin color. The vitiligo skin automatically changes with the chosen skin color. In total they have made 61 different types for various ages. By the way, if you suddenly think: wait, I don’t have Sims 4 at all. Don’t worry! Since 2022, the Sims 4 has been available for free online at Origin. There you can download the basic game for free for PC, but also for consoles. You still have to buy the expansions for the Sims if you want to.
