You better know.
Large sofas, several cupboards and we’re not even talking about the decorative items. If you want to furnish your home tastefully, go back to basics. Don’t know how and where to start? We give you a number of tips so that you do not make certain interior design mistakes and transform your house into a Pinterest-esque home.
Back to basics
Too much furniture and accessories in a room not only makes it smaller, but you will never be able to create a truly peaceful atmosphere where you can recharge. Choose one eye catcher; think of a table made of firewood. Also perfect for autumn, if you ask us.
Poor lighting
Do you have a lot of natural daylight? Lucky you! Are there mainly small windows in your home? Then place a mirror or beautiful vase to reflect the light. Every room needs more than one light point to achieve the best effect. Many people therefore exchange their curtains for blinds. Wooden blinds to be precise. These are a lot more chic than the plastic version and perfect for controlling the incidence of light.
First paint, then decorate
Take your time choosing your new wall color. Take several paint samples with you and test for 24 hours before making your decision. A color can differ a lot in artificial light or daylight. In case you didn’t know it yet: a light color makes the room seem larger.
Hanging works of art
The main reason why there are so few works of art hanging in the home is mainly because the knowledge of how to place them is lacking. Whether it is a photo or an oil painting; play with sizes, colors and textures. A small space does not allow you to hang many objects on the wall, so do not force this.
