Nobody likes a headache. Not after a busy working week, but certainly not once you have arranged it. However, many people suffer from migraines or other severe headaches and the ‘solution’ could well be a piercing. Would you like to try to relieve your migraines with ear candy? Then choose this one!

Piercings against migraines
Not only are piercings very nice to look at, they could also help against annoying and severe headaches. Migraine is one of the best known and unfortunately it not only brings headaches, but also fatigue, nausea and overstimulation; so no fun. There are now many medications available for migraines, but this does not always help.
Nowadays people look to piercings for a different, perhaps more effective solution!
Tragus piercing
It has not been scientifically proven, but many people swear by piercings as relief from migraines. The tragus piercing goes through your cartilage and is said to put pressure on the nerves around it, reducing headaches! Interesting…
Daith piercing
The other piercing that is said to relieve migraine pain is the daith piercing. This piercing goes through the cartilage on the inside of the ear. This would involve applying pressure to acupuncture points that are usually targeted during severe headache attacks.
Does it really work?
As we briefly mentioned, there is no scientific evidence that these piercings really work against migraines. There are no nerves in cartilage, so if pressure is exerted on the nerves, it concerns the nerves around them.
In addition, it may also be that – just like medicines – it works as a miracle cure for some people, while others experience no benefits from it. Getting a piercing against migraines is a chance you can take. If it doesn’t work, at least you’ll get a nice piercing in return. Not a fan of it at all? Then of course you can always let it grow closed.
