Shortly after the announcement of Charles’ cancer diagnosis, several sources reported that Harry had rushed on a plane to visit his father. However, his visit was short-lived, as less than a day later he was spotted again at Heathrow Airport.
Diagnosis
Last Monday many British people were very frightened. After Charles had recovered well from surgery on his prostate, a nasty discovery was made in the hospital. “During the King’s recent hospital stay for a benign enlarged prostate, an isolated matter of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests identified a form of cancer,” said an official statement from The Firm on Monday evening.
Lightning visit
Remarkably, the following Tuesday, Harry was spotted at Los Angeles airport, where he caught a flight to England. And indeed, a little later the news was confirmed by the Sussexes’ official spokesperson: “The Duke has spoken to his father about his diagnosis. He will travel to the UK to visit His Majesty there in the coming days.”
However, ‘the coming days’ was taken very broadly, as it now appears. Harry reportedly only spent part of a day in his home country. He arrived on Tuesday afternoon, and the next day he was back at the airport. According to insiders, the visit to Charles lasted no more than half an hour, and Harry has already returned to Montecito.
Relation
This lightning visit is a small disappointment for everyone who saw Charles’ cancer diagnosis as a blessing in disguise to restore the cooled relationship between father and son. After all, that will take a little more time than thirty minutes…
