Yesterday the new season of The Bachelor started on Videoland. We were able to enjoy two new episodes. In these episodes we met the two bachelors: Rien and Paul. Bachelor Paul tells us in his introduction that he is a lawyer and he also proudly mentions this to the ladies. But according to Yvonne Coldeweijer, that is not true. How does this work?
Bachelor Paul
Paul Roos is a handsome guy who is looking for love. He likes to party, puts his family first and is looking for a woman who dares to color outside the lines and with whom he can laugh. A spontaneous, adventurous and cheerful family woman. Paul was nominated for The Bachelor by his sister. While this started as a joke, his mother eventually encouraged him to really get involved. Participating meant quite a bit to Paul. “I work as a lawyer and had many hearings planned. If I were to leave for a longer period of time, I would not be able to represent my clients,” says Paul. But according to new juice, Paul is not a lawyer at all (anymore).
No lawyer?
If Paul isn’t a lawyer, what exactly is this about? Juice queen Yvonne Coldeweijer figured it out. She writes the following: “It’s like this. Paul has completed a university degree. You then have to complete 3 years of vocational training to become a lawyer, but during this training you work as a trainee lawyer and you can call yourself a lawyer. Paul did not complete this course. So Paul is not a lawyer after all.”
Was he a lawyer during the recordings and therefore did not actually lie? Yvonne writes this about this: “No. Paul himself indicates that he QUIT as a lawyer in order to participate in The Bachelor. So he was not a lawyer during the recordings. Also no longer in training.”
“The title of lawyer should not have been mentioned under his name on screen. He wants to make himself appear better than he is. It is a protected profession and you are not allowed to call yourself that if you are not… Did you know that it is even punishable?”

Looking for love
Whether Paul is a lawyer or not, we naturally wish him a new love. Rien Welsink is also participating in De Bachelor this season. So there are two bachelors and twice as many ladies. You can watch the new season of The Bachelor every Thursday on Videoland.
