We all remember it, the movie ‘Freaky Friday’. One of our favorite films from the beginning of this century. There were already some rumors going around about a sequel to this film and now the time has finally come: Lindsay Lohan confirms the sequel: “It’s going to happen.” How fun!

American actress Lindsay Lohan tells in the radio program ‘Andy Cohen Live’ that she and Jamie Lee Curtis are working on the sequel to Freaky Friday. This 2003 film has always been extremely popular and we understand why. The film is a true classic and has hilarious moments. In the radio show, Lindsay does not reveal too many details. “I don’t want to say too much, but we both really like it,” Lindsay says. The two actresses are in contact almost daily about this sequel, so they are confident that this project will bring them a lot of fun.
Jamie also says that she was asked several times last year whether there would be a sequel to the film. “That really struck a chord,” says Jamie. She called her friends at Disney and said, “It feels like a movie is about to be made.” And the rest is history, because that film is coming. We can’t wait!
Storyline
You probably already know what we are talking about, but to refresh you, we will briefly explain to you what Freaky Friday is about. The film stars Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess Coleman. She is Anna’s mother and their age difference is a huge obstacle for them on a daily basis. They simply do not understand each other in any way. On a Thursday evening they have a big argument in a Chinese restaurant. They receive a ‘fortune cookie’ from the restaurant owner’s mother, after which they ‘switch’ bodies the next day. Anna is in her mother Tess’s body, and her mother is in Anna’s body. They have to adapt to their new personality, which creates hilarious moments. How does this ultimately work out? Of course, we won’t spoil that if you haven’t seen the film yet.
We can’t wait to watch this sequel to Freaky Friday. Also enough reason to watch the original again!
