The lawsuit against rapper Ali B has taken an unexpected turn. Earlier today it was announced that a new witness has been included in the file against the rapper. Due to this unexpected event, the judge decided to postpone the sentence imposed by the Public Prosecution Service (OM).
Secret witness throws a spanner in the works
On Wednesday evening, a woman came forward out of nowhere and was interrogated behind closed doors in court today. Due to this plot twist, the lawsuit against the rapper is now delayed. This new witness, a woman, came forward on Wednesday evening after seeing the media reports about the trial against Ali B. She claims that she found a crying girl at a bus stop in Heiloo in 2018. The woman took the girl on the back of her bicycle and the girl allegedly said that she had been assaulted or raped in Heiloo.
Ali B begs for an extra day
After the resumption of the public part of the trial, the Public Prosecution Service and the lawyers decided to add an extra hearing day. The trial will therefore resume tomorrow, on Friday. And guess who insisted on that? This was none other than Ali B himself! Why does he want this, you might wonder? Well, he was afraid that otherwise all showbiz columns would go wild on Thursday with the prosecution’s demand for punishment.
Ali B Speaks out
“That thought was very difficult to bear,” the rapper told the press after the hearing. “It was a turbulent day, but I am very relieved that the sentence will only come on Friday.” Ali B spoke to the media after the hearing and you could really see that he was concerned about the delay due to that new witness. But he was also happy that his lawyer now has the opportunity to make his case.
A call to the media
The rapper also had an important message to the media. “You are feeding the public and you must have an opinion, but it must be based on all the facts,” he shouted. “That’s all I ask.” Ali B attaches great importance to the fact that the audience also hears what the defense has to say.
