It won’t be long before spring starts again. We can almost enjoy the wonderful sun, the beautiful, colorful flowers and the pleasant spring scents again. But before that happens, there are plenty of things that need to be done in preparation. We will tell you how to best prepare for spring. This way you are guaranteed a nice spring!
Think about your skin
While your skin needs a moisturizing, greasy cream in the winter months, a lighter cream is enough in the spring. So change your day cream in preparation for spring. Remember to apply sunscreen to your skin every day. Because it is actually wise to do this in winter, it is essential to apply sunscreen at the first rays of sunshine. Immediately check the expiration date of your skin care products. In addition, start spring with fresh skin by giving your skin a peeling. This stimulates blood circulation and removes dead skin cells.
Eat healthy and enough
It is also important that you take good care of your body on the inside. You do this by getting enough nutrients. Give your body and energy a boost by eating only fresh, unprocessed products.
Brighten up your garden
There is a good chance that you have ignored the garden for a while during the cold winter months. Although that is very understandable, it is now time to do something about it again. Start by removing all the weeds. It is then important that you create a nutritious soil by fertilizing and/or mulching the garden, in other words: covering the soil with a layer of garden waste. Then see if there are any plants that you want to transplant or repot. Do this before the plants come into leaf. Finally, don’t forget to take care of the lawn and pond.
Do some spring cleaning
There’s nothing like coming home to a clean, fresh house. Therefore, have a spring cleaning in which you take care of your entire house. Make a list in advance of everything you would like to clean and get started! Also consider cleaning your freezer and washing machine and replacing your bedding.
Get the summer clothes out of your closet
It is possible to carefully put away the winter clothes and gradually bring out the summer clothes again. We are still in the Netherlands, so you will often wear a sweater, but during the day a T-shirt will often be enough. Delicious!
Fix technical problems
Were there things you encountered in your home last spring (or summer)? Maybe it was way too warm in the house last year or there were other technical problems. Then solve these before spring starts. It would be annoying if you had to deal with these problems again this year, right?
