Thomas Markle adds fuel to the fire.
From chatting with the paparazzi to selling tours of his estranged daughter’s house – Thomas Markle has not made himself very popular with the Sussexes in recent years. In a new interview with the Daily Mail, he nevertheless feels very sorry for himself.
Meet the Markles
It’s no secret that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle don’t want to know about Thomas. In their Netflix documentary, the tension between the once close father and daughter was extensively discussed, and in Spare Harry devoted several chapters to the difficult relationship with his father-in-law.
Meanwhile, the Markle camp was launching counterattacks on the Sussexes in both the press and the courts. All this tension was blamed entirely on the princely couple, and the Markles washed their hands in innocence.
Interview
Although there has been an icy silence between Thomas Markle and his daughter’s family for years, the almost eighty-year-old father continues to hope for a reunion with his daughter.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, he revealed: “I’ve never liked birthdays, but I know the one person I’d most like to hear from won’t let me know. I would love to meet my grandchildren, but at this point I would be happy with a photo.”
He also compares himself to none other than King Charles. After all, the two have a lot in common – in terms of health problems and difficult contact with the Sussexes, according to Thomas. “I would love to speak to him because I’m sure he has as many unanswered questions as I do. Neither of us deserved such treatment.”
To add fuel to the fire of all the Sussex hatred, he adds: “The biggest question I have for them is why they have treated not only me, but also the Royal Family and the King, so badly. ”

Busy bees
In the meantime, the court of Montecito will probably have plenty of better things to do. After all, in addition to handing out free jam to famous friends, Meghan is working hard on her American Riviera Orchard and a new lifestyle show on Netflix. In the meantime, Harry is said to be busy working on a series about the world of polo. Finally, earlier this year it was announced that the Sussexes’ production company, Archewell Productions, had purchased the film rights to the book Meet me at the Lake.
We suspect that more than a deep sigh from the Sussexes is not possible for Thomas Markle…
