We know Kate as a princess with her own taste in fashion, but make no mistake: she also needs some inspiration every now and then. And she doesn’t just get them from prestigious fashion magazines: no, the looks of royal colleague Zara Tindall also provide Kate with the necessary ideas.
Dress code at Sandringham
Last Monday it happened again: the British royals traditionally gathered in Sandringham to celebrate Christmas Day together. As usual, they looked great and everyone adhered to the annual dress code: the men in suits, the women in a neat dress with a long coat over it and bonus points for a flashy hat. Kate has of course also adhered to these criteria. The princess appeared in a royal blue coat from Alexander McQueen with a pair of navy-colored Gianvito Rossi boots underneath.
Kate completed her Christmas outfit with a special hat that you may look familiar with. It is a design by Julliette Millinery, and was previously worn by Zara Tindall. Kate’s royal colleague wore the headgear in 2019 when she attended the Cheltenham races. Four years later the design appears on the head of the Princess of Wales. We knew that Zara and Kate have a good bond, but the fact that they rummage through each other’s wardrobe is something new!
New hat
Fortunately, Princess Anne’s daughter was not left without a hat: no, she saw the lending scene as a great opportunity to purchase a new flashy headgear. Zara once again turned to Julliette Millinery, who designed a gold-colored hat for her. Zara combined the large colossus with a Laura Green jacket, over-the-knee boots from Stuart Weitzman and a bag from Aspinal of London.
It is gradually becoming clear that Kate sometimes turns to Zara for fashion advice. We are curious: would Zara also be allowed to borrow from Kate’s closet?
