This way you can get through the holidays without aches and pains, but with high heels.
If you face the day unprepared in sky-high stilettos, one thing is certain: you will stumble home in the evening. With a bit of bad luck, you may also end up with painful blisters. Fortunately, there are a number of tips that will help you last much longer when parading around in high heels. Take notes!
Ball of the foot
Usually the problem with a pair of pumps is not that your entire foot hurts. In many cases it is precisely the ball of the foot where pressure arises. Not surprising, because that is where the most pressure lies. But how do you ensure that you can dance shamelessly in heels all evening without wanting to kick them off at the end of the evening? One word: tape.
Time for tape
There is a simple trick with tape to relieve pressure on the ball of your foot. All you have to do is wrap the third and fourth toes (from your big toe) with tape à la Leukoplast. This trick relieves the nerve that causes pain in your foot and that is exactly what you need if you have to wear pumps for a long time!
Pumps & tights
We also have a hack for you that the royals like to use. Do you wear pantyhose in your pump? To prevent slippery feet, which makes it more difficult to walk in heels, royals like Princess Kate and our own Máxima rely on stockings with silicone pads – an extra foot, so to speak – at the bottom. Offers a lot more strength, and no one sees it. This way you don’t have to bring extra sneakers to Christmas dinner, and you can get through the holidays a lot more relaxed!
