“Harry was all alone.”
Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly had no idea the royal family was preparing for Queen Elizabeth’s death last year. This is evident from the new book Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival, written by good friend of the Duke of Sussex, Omid Scobie.

The new book Endgame reveals that the relationship between the brothers Prince William and Harry is irreparable, because the Prince of Wales sees his brother as a ‘turncoat’. According to the book, William believes that Harry has been ‘brainwashed by an army of therapists’.

In the new book Endgame, Scobie says that Harry and Meghan had visited Britain for a number of engagements in September 2022, when the palace announced that Queen Elizabeth should rest after doctors’ advice. “The next morning, the Sussexes had no idea that Buckingham Palace was already planning for the Queen’s final hours, and the first days of the new era of the monarchy – until the Duke’s phone started ringing. An unknown number. Most of the time he ignored them,” Scobie writes. It was Meghan who prompted her husband to answer the call. And he did, just before the phone stopped ringing. Scobie continues: “Harry hadn’t spoken much to his father that year, but this was not the time for tension between father and son. Charles told him that he and Camilla were about to leave Dumfries House for Balmoral, where Princess Anne was already at the Queen’s side. He told Harry to come to Scotland immediately.”
Harry immediately sent a message to his brother to ask how he and Kate planned to go to Scotland and if they could travel together, but the Duke of Sussex received no response. “It was disturbing to witness,” Scobie said. “Harry was all alone.”
Scobie claims that some Buckingham Palace ‘sources’ had provided certain newspapers with information. For example, it was written at the time that Charles had personally shared the terrible news about the sick Queen Elizabeth with his son, but this is denied in Endgame.
Spare
In the book Spare, Harry already talked about the death of his lovely grandmother. He rushed to Scotland last year to meet Her Majesty after Buckingham Palace announced she was seriously ill. Unfortunately, he was unable to reach the estate in time before Elizabeth died. Harry described in his book how he whispered to her that he hoped she was happy and would be reunited with Prince Philip, who died a year earlier.
