We can totally see this!
Princess Anne dancing like crazy on national television in a ballroom dress: can you imagine it? Well, it just might become a reality. The Princess Royal is a huge fan of Strictly Come Dancing and would love to take part in the dance program.
Strictly Come Dancing
Anne is said to have expressed her love for the program to Nadiya Bychkova, a regular dancer in the program. The two recently got talking at a ballet event. “She is a Strictly fan and she would love to be on the show – she has said so herself,” Nadiya told The Sun. “I think she would do a great job. She has so much personality.”
Although we would love to see the princess shine in a performance of the Samba or the Cha-Cha-Cha, the question is how realistic this really is. In any case, it will not be Nadiya’s fault: she promises to put in a good word for the princess with the producers of the show. “We have that privilege. We regularly encounter celebrities who are huge fans of the show. So we regularly have conversations with the producers in which we make proposals for new candidates.”
Royal family
Princess Anne is not the only British royal who is a fan of the show. Earlier this year, Queen Camilla revealed that she is ‘one of the biggest Strictly fans’. According to The Sun, there have even been talks to record the program at Buckingham Palace.
And Princess Kate and the kids also enjoy watching the program. The trio even recently got on a private tour of the set. About this visit, jury member Shirley Ballas says: “When they came to visit we happened to have crowns lying around, so I thought it would be a nice idea to give Princess Charlotte a crown. I bought Louis a nice box of sweets. But then he said, “I want one of those too,” pointing to the crown. So we had to find one for him too.” How touching!
Royal
If Anne suddenly decides to make her TV show debut, she can always get advice from her son-in-law Mike Tindall on how to do it – or better yet, how not to do it. He set tongues wagging with his appearance in the survival show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, where he talked extensively about the time he tore his pants or stood on the dance floor completely drunk. Things will be a little calmer on Strictly Come Dancing, but tearing out of your ballroom dress on national television is of course no fun either…
