I’m a Barbie girl, in a Barbie world!
Queen Camilla has received a very special gift in honor of International Women’s Day. She proves that, even at the age of 76, your biggest girl’s dream can still come true.
Own Barbie doll
During Tuesday’s Women of the World reception at Buckingham Palace, Queen Camilla received her very own Barbie doll! The look-alike is even dressed in a replica of the elegant ensemble she wore during the reception: a beautiful blue Fiona Clare gown, paired with an Amanda Wakeley jacket.

“Thank you very much. This is brilliant,” said Queen Camilla when she received the doll. “You stole about fifty years of my life!” she joked. “We should all have a Barbie.”
The Queen, who is currently chair of WOW, was joined at the event by Helen Mirren, Doreen Lawrence, Spice Girl Mel B and Kelly Holmes. The Duchess of Gloucester and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians were also present.

Queen Camilla and Queen Mathilde boarded the WOW Girls Festival Bus together, which traveled to schools and community centers across England to promote gender equality.
Barbie girl?
Camilla was once the most hated woman in England because she was said to have destroyed Charles and Diana’s ‘fairy tale’. Since her marriage to Charles, nineteen years ago, the public has come to know her in a different way. She is human and warm-hearted, Charles is always happy when she is around and Camilla charms everyone with her tongue-in-cheek sense of humor.
Camilla herself is not someone who likes to be in the spotlight, but she has accepted that it is part of it and invested in things that are important for the image: a permanent hairdresser, good couturiers, a maid who enjoys doing things like that. – which Cam is naturally not unduly interested in – to arrange. Well, that turned out pretty well! Because if you have your own Barbie, you can safely call yourself a style icon.
