The boys do not hide how they feel about the princess.
Although we haven’t heard from Princess Alexia in a while, she is still the topic of conversation. She is said to be going to study in Groningen. And even though it remains only rumors so far, Groningen is now eager to receive the princess – and especially the male Groningen residents.
Ode to the princess
The Groningen boy band Veel Jongens, consisting of five boys, is particularly excited when the princess sets foot on Groningen soil. They even made a song about her. And because it was a real hit on TikTok, it can now also be listened to on YouTube.
Alexia is at the top
“Orange hair, blue blood, red lips, heart of gold, just like our Willem’s crown,” is what the song says, among others. The boys also let us know what they think about Alexia and her family with quotes like: “Alexia you are at the top, for me the queen like Amalia” and “I want a mother-in-law like Máxima”.
The song then ends with the promise that one of the boys will wait for Alexia on the Grote Markt in Groningen. The question remains who that of the boys will be.
Groningen
Earlier in 2018, the King’s Commissioner, René Paas, suggested that the A’s could well study in Groningen. Although most Dutch royals go to study in Leiden, Alexia would not be the first to choose Groningen. Prince Maurits, Princess Marilène and Princess Laurentien also had a great time in the northern student city in their younger years.
Student days
Alexia would reportedly come to live in the Schildersbuurt and become a member of the Groningen Student Corps Vindicat Atque Polit. What exactly the princess will study and whether the rumors are really true has not yet been confirmed, but one thing is certain: mom and dad would more than approve of Alexia’s choice for Groningen. Máxima previously called Groningen “a cool city”, and Wim-Lex also had nothing but praise for the city. Will Alexia really follow in her uncle Maurits’ footsteps and tap beers behind the bar of Café Soestdijk? Time will tell…
