The robe was embroidered with numerous vulva motifs. Now reveals Gillianhow the outfit came about.
“It’s appropriate for the brand,” the Sex Education actress told Deadline on the sidelines of the red carpet. The dress is a collaboration between Hearst and her wellness brand G-Spot, as she further explained in an interview with Extra. Adding the vulva details was also very time-consuming: “It took three and a half hours to embroider a yoni – and there are a lot of them. So it was around 150 hours of embroidery in total.”
The motif also has important meaning for the former “X-Files” investigator. “Since my Instagram presence highlights Yonis,’Sex education‘ is on Netflix and the mantra of my brand G-Spot is to put pleasure first, I wanted to bring that element into the design,” she told British Vogue.
