This weekend was a big party: Lizzy van der Ligt and Yuki Kempees finally got married! After a long engagement of no less than ten years (!), the time had finally come last Saturday. The lovebirds shared radiant photos of their special day on Instagram.

Their fairytale wedding of Yuki and Lizzy is divided into two parts and part one took place last Saturday in their beloved city of Amsterdam. “The wedding pt.1. Yesterday on June 1, 2024, we celebrated our civil wedding in the company of our family,” the new spouses wrote in a beautiful series of photos on Instagram. “It’s forever now.” In the images that the newly weds have shared, we see that they made a fairytale trip on a boat on the Amsterdam canals. And wow, did they look fantastic! Yuki rocked a stylish black suit, paired with silver Adidas sneakers. Lizzy shone in a striking pink dress with a red veil that matched perfectly. And of course a ride in a vintage car with ‘just married’ on the rear window could not be missed. How cute is that? But, this is just the beginning! The second part of their wedding will follow in the summer. “On to the wedding pt.2, in September in Ibiza. ❤️💍🍾” said the beaming couple. We can’t wait for the Ibiza vibes!

The beginning of their love
Lizzy and Yuki have been a power couple for almost ten years. Last summer, they opened up about how their relationship started in an interview with Grazia, and it’s so cute! Lizzy sent Yuki a friend request on Facebook and from that first chat message it was a hit. “I said to a friend over dinner, ‘I’m talking to someone and I think she might be the one.’ I had never felt that before,” Yuki remembers. Lizzy had the same feeling: “I said to my cousin in Ibiza: ‘I don’t know him well yet, but I think this is it.’ In a special moment, they both realized that maybe they were made for each other, without ever seeing each other in real life. And now, fast forward to the present: after years of happiness and with two beautiful daughters, they can finally say they are officially husband and wife. Cute!
