Next Wednesday, the royal couple will again clash with the diplomatic corps. Which (old) evening dress will Maxima wear?
For those who missed it: during the diplomats’ dinner, Máxima wears a golden oldie nine times out of ten. For example, in 2018 she wore an ensemble from 2001, in 2017 a dress from 2007, in 2016 an ensemble from 2002 and in 2015 a dress from 2002. This time we delve deep into her closet for the prediction.
What I am curious about is the pink strapless dress that appeared during the state visit of the Luxembourg Grand Duke and Grand Duchess. Máxima’s dress is only partly visible, which makes me very curious about what lies behind Willem-Alexander and Maria Teresa.
A creation that definitely deserves a second chance is the Delft blue floral dress by Carolina Herrera. Máxima wore it to a royal party in Denmark in 2010. Privately he served again in 2021, but publicly we never saw this gem again. High time for a new round!

This golden design by Benito Fernandez served during Chile’s state visit (2009). Since then he has been hanging unemployed in Máxima’s closet. If she has the turned-back strip at the bodice repaired, a beautiful, contemporary creation will emerge.

I know that some visitors to this website are now going to pull their hair out because I mention Máxima’s mermaid dress by Jan Taminiau again. Sorry! I think the dress will look better now than it did on its debut, because our queen is slimmer than she was fourteen years ago.

Worn once in 2015 and has remained out of the picture since: Máxima’s fuchsia fringe dress by Benito Fernandez. If she wears this dress, I hereby ask her to take a spin for the photographers 😉

Why Máxima only wore her asymmetrical dress from Ralph Lauren once is a mystery to me. What a picture of a dress! I would like to see him again with the antique pearl diadem.

Never really came out well: Máxima’s white evening toilet by Edouard Vermeulen. Although the debut was fifteen years ago, this design is always possible. The black bow can probably be replaced by a large, impressive brooch.

She can also wear the skirt above with a silver-colored top. This combination has not appeared since 2006. If she opts for a second round, I hope she also thinks about the long gloves.

On her Pinterest page, Máxima has pinned this pink Valentino to her ‘rehearsal’ board. Could Wednesday be the big day?

Not my favorite, but price-wise (couture from Valentino easily costs 50,000 euros) worth a second round: Máxima’s black evening dress with embroidery, feathers and see-throughs.

After its debut in 2014, this combination of Natan no longer appeared. She can also bring this out on Wednesday.
