Three generations of royals: same place, different years.
The Danish royal family is also in summer vacation. At the moment, Prince Joachim, Princess Marie and the kids are in France, where they are enjoying the sun-drenched landscape. And that is accompanied by a lot of fun: on Instagram, son Nikolai shares a funny and especially nostalgic photo series.
Three generations
Count Nikolai posted a nostalgic throwback on his Instagram this week. The photos were taken from Château de Cayx, the Danish royal family’s family estate in France. In the first photo, we see Nikolai hanging out of a window, in the second photo his father Prince Joachim does the same, followed by grandfather Prince Henrik in the third photo. “Three generations, same place, years apart,” reads the caption to the photo series.

Birthday Felix
In addition to the necessary nostalgic snapshots, there is also a holiday and party celebrated on the estate. This week, Nikolai’s brother, Count Felix, had his birthday. He was able to blow out 22 candles. The Danish Royal Family put Felix in the spotlight and posted a cozy family photo.

The Danes certainly enjoy themselves. Nikolai’s girlfriend Benedikte also joins in the fun. They go boating, play Jeu de Boules and eat delicious food. What a party!
Prince’s title
It was quite a shock for Nikolai in September 2022, when his princely title was taken away from him from one day to the next. But the (somewhat unexpected) decision of grandma Margrethe was fixed, and so it was time for the – now – count to adjust his vision of the future. Fortunately, he was able to switch to plan B: becoming a model. And although he seemed to be well on his way before Margrethe took away his princely title, his modeling career seems to have been going even faster since then. He shines on one cover after another and has even been featured in a Dutch magazine.
