A team of lawyers has now been assigned to the case.
Things continue to rumble at the Danish court. All the fuss from last year surrounding the grandchildren’s titles has finally been forgotten, and the heir to the throne is suddenly photographed during a fun evening out in Madrid without his wife.
Frederik’s night out
The rumors have been going around for a while now: just while the Spanish royals were guests in Denmark last week, the Spanish magazine Lecturas published a series of special photos. This shows the Danish Crown Prince enjoying a walk, a visit to a museum, and a flamenco performance in Madrid. Nothing crazy in itself, except that he was spotted side by side all day with the Mexican socialite, actress, and reality star Genoveva Casanova.
The photos (which you can view here) also show the two arriving separately at Genoveva’s apartment complex in the early evening. A few hours later they leave the building in a fresh set of clothes, go to a restaurant for a flamenco performance, and well after midnight the two return to the Mexican beauty’s home. The next day, Frederik was spotted solo with a suitcase on his way to the airport.
Denial
Now there is nothing scandalous in the photos themselves – no hands are held or amorous looks are exchanged – but the fact that Crown Princess Mary’s husband spends a night with another lady is causing a stir.
Although the Danish court has not responded to the rumors, Genoveva did speak out. And how! Genoveva shared a letter from a law firm via her Instagram, which strongly denies the affair.
For example, it can be read that Genoveva and her lawyers want to urge Lecturas to withdraw or rectify the article, as all rumors about ‘una relación sentimental’ are completely unfounded. “As this is completely untrue, its publication will cause serious damage to the honor and image of my client as well as to that of His Royal Highness,” it continues.
Furthermore, Genoveva’s legal team demands that the publication immediately stop publishing such innuendos and that they go public. The actress also wants the magazine to pay an equal amount of attention to correcting the unfounded rumors.
And that outing?
The photos are said to be easy to explain. For example, The Daily Mail writes that insiders have known for a long time that Frederik and Genoveva are good friends. “They are friends. They know each other and have mutual friends. They generally meet a few times a year,” shared Susanna Griso, a Spanish TV presenter.
The two reportedly met during an exclusive hunting trip for the barrel and have had a casual friendship ever since. And well: don’t blame Frederik. If we had a good friend living in Madrid, we would have gone there with all our love for a small city trip.
With the united front that Frederik and Mary showed yesterday after their son’s first council meeting, it seems that there is no problem in Denmark. Now it remains to be hoped that the Spanish tabloid will go along with the wishes of Genoveva and her lawyers!
