No Monaco without glitter and no Monte Carlo without glamour! Last night there was a big party in the microstate of the mega-rich, with the opening of the brand new establishment Amazónico on the Place du Casino. Of course, the Grimaldis were also not afraid to make an appearance!
Grand opening
It remains a bit special: the average Dutch restaurant owner can only dream of our Oranjes being present at a grand opening. In Monaco, however, it is part of life.
Yesterday, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, together with Princess Stéphanie, and her offspring, Camille Gottlieb, Louis Ducruet, and daughter-in-law Marie Ducruet, and family friend Melanie-Antoinette de Massy, were at the opening of the brand new restaurant Amazónico, which is entirely inspired by the South American jungle.
Matching outfits
Nice detail: it seems that the princely family also tailored their outfits to this theme! We spotted Princess Stéphanie in an Aztec-print blazer – an unmissable eye-catcher – and even Prince Albert seems to have matched his neat tie to his sister’s colorful outfit for the occasion! Stéphanie’s daughter-in-law Marie exchanged the diapers of daughter Victoire (who was born yesterday) last night for a blouse with a botanical print, and daughter Camille completed her chic black outfit with a colorful silk scarf.

Charlene, however, did not care about any theme, and opted for a rocker chic outfit, with tight-fitting leather trousers, a bronze top and a dark blazer made of a glittering bouclé fabric (perhaps the Akris Silk Lurex Blend Blouse and Fringe Bouclé Jacket?) , and accentuated her cool look with an elegant cat eye makeup. Classic yet cool: that’s how we know Her Serene Highness!
Palatial location
If you find yourself in Monaco soon: the Amazónico can be found on the top floor of the Café de Paris, where you can look out on big names such as BVLGARI, Loro Piana, and Rolex. Well, Monaco is nothing if not luxurious, nun?
